Recognition of prior experience
Traineeship. Candidates who have relevant previous qualifications or experience may enter into a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) traineeship with World literacy International by successfully complying with requirements of:
- 20 hours observation in a Reading for Suretm centre followed by a written report and interview;
- The equivalent of 12 hours application per unit in accordance with the practicum requirements, following lesson and resource planning for specified students.
- An undertaking to deliver 400 hours, preferably over a period not exceeding six months, (20 hours weekly) as a trainee in the WLI Reading for Suretm Centre in Morley, (or other nominated centre), providing the clientele is available under those terms.
Applicants are encouraged to discuss the following negotiable payment plans with the WLI office.
- Negotiated Practice and Financial Plan. This can replace the fee for the WLI accreditation if the participant elects the six month RPL traineeship.
- Six months provisional licence plan. This plan may be undertaken by trainees who have the facilities and wish to complete the course on-line. The applicant undertakes:
- satisfactory completion of the course work study and the written assignments for each unit, followed by:
- agreement to set up a practice plan as a WLI provisional licensee with privately paying clients from which royalties are paid to WLI on an agreed basis.
